Kendriya Vidyalaya Air Force Station Kumbhirgram a defense sector KV sponsored by 22 Wing AF was opened during session 1980-81. It is about 28 km from main town Silchar and located in the Air Force campus. Beautiful surrounding of Air force, tea gardens, and hill tops on the back side..

The extraordinary journey of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, which began in 1963 with just 20 regimental schools, has transformed into a vast network of 1,289 Kendriya Vidyalayas, illuminating the nation with the light of exceptional education.

With this vision, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Regional Office Silchar continues its journey of nurturing young minds through meaningful learning experiences and value-based education. It is a privilege to be a part of a system where every contributor is a learner and every day is an opportunity to discover, create and innovate. We look at ourselves as a coterie of learners, where everyone learns including our staff, students and parents. As we attain new milestones and undergo beautiful beginnings, we feel proud to state that KVS RO Silchar has expanded its infrastructure, both physical and digital to provide a conducive and vibrant environment for holistic development and progress. Our Vidyalayas strive to create thriving spaces where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are celebrated, and individuality is respected. By integrating progressive pedagogical practices with evolving digital resources, we aim to prepare learners for a rapidly changing global landscape while keeping them rooted in the ethos of Indianness. Education flourishes when students are inspired to think independently, collaborate harmoniously, and explore fearlessly. It is our responsibility to pass on the legacy of education to our future generations where it sets children to grow personally, professionally and socially. It can awaken joy, curiosity a deep desire to solve problems and to be self-responsible individuals. We at KVS RO Silchar, believe in inspiring and paving the way for our students to develop their inbred qualities as academic succeeders, liberal thinkers and potent communicators making them independent global citizens. The strength of KVS lies in its dedicated educators. Our teachers are lifelong learners who continuously reinvent their methods to meet the aspirations of contemporary education. Their commitment, innovation, and mentorship illuminate the path for students to dream and achieve. The spirit of the National Education Policy 2020 resonates deeply in our institutions as we endeavour to foster experiential learning, critical thinking, and holistic growth. It is a matter of immense pride to be able to serve in one of the most premier institutions of our country .As the head of Kendriya Vidyalaya ,AFS Kumbhirgram, it has been my constant endeavour to strive for excellence in all aspects of our school. Championing the cause education has been our foremost agenda . My team of dedicated and sincere teachers is working round the clock to facilitate and bring about a holistic development of our students. Shaping these young impressionable minds has been no mean task. The joy of transforming the tiny sapplings into strong and beautiful individuals, is a reward in itself .It is this that gives us strength to continue our mission with zeal and vigor. I promise to deliver to my nation, some of the finest nation builders. In our school, we help our students enjoy a sense of belongingness which is the base of all human values. All activities, be it in classrooms, fields, labs, auditorium, excursions, interschool competitions are guided by this one objective which turns learning a pleasant experience and prevents our students from the virus called insensitivity Our efforts are also towards instilling a high degree of confidence, self-discipline, tolerance and perseverance and self-motivation that helps the tough get going when the going gets tough. We hope the values imparted in our school take our students to great heights and they remember their alma mater with love and fondness.
